If you feel your school is a boring place, well you might not be alone. Your friends, teachers or parents too might feel the same. By getting together and creating a strong group, you could do something to improve your school. It is not always about building a new gymnasium or science laboratory. It can be done with not as much investment. Improvement isn’t physical or material but can be a difference in behaviour or culture in school. So here are some things you could do to make your school a better place.
- Enhance appearanceIf your school looks good, it of course will improve potential. Beautifying your school can be one of the easiest methods. Take a good look around the school and decide on the changes you could make. Gather the students and teachers and simply clean the area around. Pick out weeds, plant flowers, repaint the walls, establishing a neat wastage disposal system, installing new lockers Brisbane etc. will not take up a lot of funds. You can also start a garden and encourage students to grow flowers, vegetable, fruits etc. This will help students relieve their stress and experience a sense of satisfaction when they witness their hard work’s results. The garden can also be used for education such as science classes. Painting a mural is a great way to showcase the students’ talents.
- Improving opportunitiesBoosting clubs and other activities can be a great way to encourage your students. There can be something for everyone, so all students will be involved in activities other than academics. Sports, cheerleading, debate, math whiz, drama etc. are some of the clubs you could start. If you are running out of ideas, you can always approach your teachers, parents, administrators and external consultants. If you have any major projects such as building a gymnasium, you’ll need to take care of many aspects. Look for ways to reduce costs such as getting gym lockers for sale. You could also hold a fundraiser event such as a yard sale, drama show etc.
- Make school inclusiveA major improvement you could do is to create a culture of unity. Ask everyone to join in and help with the improvement process. Listen to all ideas and take collective decisions. Create an environment that is against racism and bullying in school. Do not let people gossip or spread rumors on kids. These can negatively affect the mental health of students. Also, encourage all to eat healthy. Be nice to new students so that they feel welcome in school.
