Sugar Cookie Recipe

Yummiest Sugar Cookies Ever!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter (two sticks)
  • 1 cup confectioner’s sugar (powdered sugar)
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (imitation works just fine too)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 4 cups of flour

Directions:

  1. Cream sugar, butter, powdered sugar and oil (this works best if the butter is soft, I take it out about an hour before I plan to start making the cookie dough)
  2. Then cream in eggs (one at a time) and add vanilla
  3. In a separate bowl: mix baking soda, cream of tartar and flour
  4. Add dry ingredients to creamed ingredients less than 1 cup at a time
  5. Chill dough in refrigerator at least 2 hours
  6. Preheat oven to 350 (F)
  7. Drop 1-2″ balls on cookie sheet(s) (I have a Wilton cookie press–makes this process so much easier–$10 at Target)
  8. Add sprinkles (or wait to add frosting)
  9. Bake at 350 (F) for 8-10 minutes (If making cookie cutter cookies, bake for 10min. If using cookie press, bake for 8 minutes.)
  10. Let cool — add frosting (if you want)
  11. ENJOY!!
